Oil Separation - Dynamic Coalescing

(Pneumatic & Portable)
Zebra Snapdragon ADAPT and Zebra Snapdragon Deluxe

Portable Skimming, Coalescing, Separation, and Filtration Systems

The Ultimate Skimming Machine at a Fraction of the Cost!

Zebra Snapdragon™ now with ADAPT™

Gravity Separates First
Current coalescing technology re-emulsifies oils during the initial filtering process. The Zebra Snapdragon™ with ADAPT™ (Advanced Dual Action Pumping Technology, patent pending) solves this problem. FIRST - it removes the oils by gravity separation, THEN - it removes small particles through filtration for better parts quality. Zebra Snapdragon™ is able to perform these functions by utilizing both sides of its diaphragm pump.

Faster Smoother Skimming
The Snapdragon™ ADAPT™ uses pulse dampening technology (PDC) to smooth the fluid flow coming into the skimming device. This not only treats the oil gently, but it also provides the fastest skimming rate possible.

Easy to Maintain
The Snapdragon™ ADAPT™ has been designed to be easy to use, clean, and maintain. All components can easily be inspected and replaced, if necessary. Even the central tank can be removed to be cleaned and disinfected within minutes.

Towmotor Lift Wings
The Snapdragon™ ADAPT™ has also been designed to be very maneuverable, with towmotor lift wings, allowing for easy storage and quick lifting to upper plant levels or over conduit and floor obstructions.

The Original Zebra Snapdragon™

Our Snapdragon™ Deluxe is a solid partner in keeping machine sumps clean. For removing oils quickly, or maintaining multiple sumps, the Deluxe has satisfied many customers throughout the world. It is the most economical unit when ultrafiltration and pressurized coolant return are necessary.

(A) Skimming - Removing the surface layer is critical to sump performance. We offer the largest selection of skimmer types and configurations. We can continuously skim from sumps that fluctuate more than 10 feet.

(B) Prefiltering - Prefiltering means protection for the pump, without emulsifying the oils in your coolant. We use filters from 500µ down to 100µ in size. We will help you choose the one that's best for your needs.

(C) Pulse Dampening - This Pulse Dampening Capsule (PDC) keeps the impact of the diaphragm pump to a minimum for a continuous flow of separated tramp oils.

(D) Pump - Air-driven double diaphragm pumps are standard. Electric models are also available. Pump life average of 7 to 10 years.

(E) Oil Separation Technology - We use sophisticated separation technology to remove oil droplets from your coolant. Coalescing media is standard inside the tank, but we improve them with a Baffled Air Turbulence System, removing entrained air from the column before the oil enters the main separation tank. This improves separation efficiency (when air is present) by over 20%.

(F) Oil-Free Coolant Once free of oil the coolant travels from the tank to the left side of the split double diaphragm pump, to be delivered to (G) Ultrafiltration.

(G) Ultrafiltration - The particle filtration stage located under the left wing of the ADAPT™ takes the de-oiled coolant and removes particles from 100µ to 5µ. There is also a recirculation line that keeps the pump from overfilling the tank.

Clean Coolant Return - Once the de-oiled coolant has been filtered for particles, it is returned under pressure to your sump or other holding tank. The return hose is crush and kink resistant (not shown).

(H) Waste Oil Removal - Getting the waste oil out of Snapdragon™ is as easy as opening this valve. The opaque tank shows the oil layer to be drained.

Maintenance - We made the Snapdragon™ System easy to assemble and disassemble, to make sure it will always be used by your team. Empties in a minute, cleans in 15 minutes.

Kill the Fish

Would you fill an expensive aquarium with fish and then save a few dollars by not including a pump and a filter? Your machine sump represents an ongoing investment in chemicals, labor, tooling and parts quality. It may be the most expensive 'aquarium' you will ever own. When the fluid begins to spoil, you are 'killing the fish,' through poor filtering, oxygen starvation, and bacterial biofilms.

Take Care of Your Pond

A stagnant pond will clog with weeds and algae, and then smell. Those smells come from rotting organics, just like in your sump. Smart pond owners always have a fountain running during warm months to keep the water flowing and to keep oxygen levels up. The same things take place in your machine sump, so why not use the same proven techniques?

Sump Side Story - Part 1

Floyd made high tech equipment on old huge mills. Most worked great, but some needed special care. Floyd knew their quirks, so he was 'elected' to be the coolant specialist. He didn't worry about them, only making sure they had enough fluid. Monday morning smells were powerful, and sometimes the sumps would turn an ugly shade of green - but only sometimes.
