Standard Bi-Metal M42
High heat and wear resistance
For contour cutting
General cutting in machine shops and tool rooms for small and medium dimensions.
Run at double speed of SILCO® blades.
Suitable for profile and bundle cutting - not for production cutting of large quantities.
Can be welded on standard band saw machine welders.

CONQUEROR® is a recommended alternative for production cutting.

COBALT M42 BI-METAL
The cobalt blades are highly suitable for cutting hard to work materials such as stainless, monel, nickel, inconel, titanium etc.

Highest resistance to wear due to frictional heat.

Exclusive heat treatment guaranteeing the utmost in even and controlled tempering.

We are pioneers in heat treating band saw blades and this knowledge vouches for a complete utilization of the M42 quality’s good characteristics. For faster cutting and good economy in hard-worked materials choose a Cobalt blade from Hakansson.

Blades with variable teeth have different tooth pitches on the same blade and is recommended for cutting tubing and structural materials but can also be used for solid materials.

For finer surface - more quiet sawing - increased blade life - use Hakansson VARIABLE TOOTH PITCH Bi-Metal blades.

Small and medium dimensions

For large profiles and solid materials.
For non-ferrous metals.

Allpower M42
High heat and wear resistance.

Suitable for production as well as non-production cutting of moderate to difficult to cut materials.
For large profiles and solid materials.
For non-ferrous metals.

For cutting hard to work materials
such as stainless, monel, nickel, inconel, titanium etc.

OPTIMIZER™ M42
Abrasive resistant and recommended when high temperatures are generated during cutting. Increased blade life when sawing materials like hastelloy, inconel, titanium and cobalt based materials that can work harden if not consistently penetrated.

Specially designed tooth for improved chipflow.

Use OPTIMIZER™ for moderate to difficult to cut solid metals.
Fast cutting of wide cross sections of ferrous and non-ferrous metals. High heat and wear resistance.

SILCO® Flexback
High Silicon Carbon Blade

Hakansson SILCO® blades are induction heat treated. This method is pioneered by Hakansson and has been in use since 1947 providing maximum hardness, toughness and wear resistance.

Hakansson SILCO® offers hardened teeth and flexible back. It is manufactured from high quality steel rendering resistance to heat generated by friction therefore increased blade life.

SILCO® is produced in a wide range of widths, tooth pitches and tooth profiles.

Quality control during production is meticulous; each coil is given a control number relating to every step in the manufacturing process.

For cutting of aluminium,brass,
bronze,cast iron, copper, lead, zink,
graphite, fiberclass, plastics, cork
and other non-ferrous metals.

Friction Standard (F) tooth

Friction band saw blades
For cutting practically every kind of steel regardless of alloy and hardness as well as cast iron.

Suitable for cutting material with thickness 2-25mm at cutting speeds 2000-5000 meter per minute.

Our high silicone steel gives longer blade life and great fatigue resistance.

For cutting thin and difficult
to cut materials.

Tooth set
Raker set (RS)

With this type of setting one tooth is set to the right, the next to the left, and the third is straight. Sawing is done mainly by the two side teeth while the straight tooth serves to eject the chips.
This setting is recommended particulary for cutting of rods, forged work pieces, stampings, die making, friction cutting etc.

Alternate set (AS)

This settings patter has one tooth set to the right, the following to the left, the next to the right and so on. Hakansson Butcher Blades are supplied with this type of setting.
This setting is also used on wood cutting band saw blades.

Alternative Rake (AR)

A group of AS set teeth is followed by a straight tooth.
Recommended for certain contour sawing and for faster cutting.

Chip Characteristics
The characteristics of the chips gives information about the cutting process. A skilled operator should be able to choose right feed and speed by looking at the chips. The friction heat dulls the teeth, especially when cutting heavy solid work pieces. Generally, decrease the speed for larger cross sections.

Very fine pulverized chips. Feed speed should be increased.

Thick, heavy or blue colored chips indicate that the saw blade is being overloaded.

Loosely rolled chips indicate ideal cutting conditions.
